Our actress experiences the shittiest of shitty weeks and although she's trying her best to remain strong, naturally it gets the best of her, there’s only so much a girl can take.
But, despite
everything bad happening to her, she still has a group of people she can
always count on. We can now add our Inspector on that list who, little by
little, is showing signs that he’s more than just a cold and reserved officer of
the law.
Episode 3 Recap
RIP Selina. Everyone
is at the cemetery for her interment and as her casket is lowered, the priests
say a few words in honor of her memory. Mama Mia cries as she places a flower
on the casket but our inspector’s arrival makes her fume in silent anger.
As Jasmine
and company are walking, Sarah Mae gives them the stink eye. Carly tells them
to ignore her, saying that Sarah deserves to join Selina in hell. Wait,
hold on, that was too far Carly!
Jasmine and
Wendell both reprimand her for thinking that way but she fires back, is she the
only one who remembered how mean Selina was to Jasmine? Just then, Ramirez
walks up to them and tells her that she shouldn’t just blurt out something like
that in public; a cop might misunderstand.
Ramirez
explains why he’s here; he was tasked by the chief to look out for Jasmine, for
her safety. He also shares his suspicions regarding Selina’s death, contrary to
what the media is saying, he thinks that it wasn’t because of the accident. Selina
was already recovering when he last saw her, so why did she suddenly die?
Their
conversation is interrupted by the press and Selina’s zealous fans running
towards Jasmine. Wendell makes a futile attempt to block them long enough for
Jasmine to escape.
Back in the
office, Steven is livid after watching the news. Apparently the funeral was a
secret, no media or press was present except for Wendell who Mama Mia
personally invited to do an exclusive. Because of Selina’s sudden death
everyone is pointing fingers at, her rival, Jasmine.
Steven
thinks that it was Wendell who leaked the funeral news but Jasmine assures him
that he didn’t. She’s worried about the press and Selina’s fans, ever since she
took the URLoved role, they hadn’t stopped bothering her. Steven is more
worried about the show, he’s not gonna allow her to just back out, the show
must go on!
In the
police station, after seeing the news the chief berates our inspectors; they
can’t just go around beating up reporters. Ramirez defends his actions; he was
only doing that to protect Jasmine and her entourage. He asks the chief for
permission to access Selina’s hospital records but chief gives that task to
Osorio while his assignment is to investigate the URLoved set.
Outside,
Osorio hands him the hospital logbook. He’s shocked to read that Jasmine was
the last person to visit Selina the day she died.
Jasmine
arrives on the set of URLoved and she’s surprised to see Sarah Mae. Sarah
reminds her that she’s also part of the cast; playing the sister of Alexis’
character. Jasmine is called by the director and Sarah Mae snidely tells her to
‘break a leg’.
(While
they were talking, there was a glimpse of a guy wearing a red hat. Last
episode, the guy who pretended to be a doctor that turned out to be Maskara was
also wearing a red hat, I didn’t mention it last recap because I thought that
it was just a one-time thing.)
Alexis asks
how Jasmine is coping with the recent events. She feels that she’s the center
of all the scandal news lately. Alexis shares an incident that happened to him
before; when he was 15 he accidentally hit another car but it wasn’t entirely
his fault. The press still spanned the story around to put him in a very bad
light.
Filming
time. They act out a confrontation scene in a library. They both do a great job
at first but Jasmine screws up her last line. The director, of course,
chastises her for it. She does the same line take after take and finally the
director is satisfied with the 12th take.
This crushes
Jasmine’s spirit as she mopes in her dressing room. Carly tries to comfort her
but Jasmine insists that it was a disaster. In comes Miguel with, of course, a
bouquet of flowers. What else is new? He invites them out for a drink to
relieve her stress but she’s still in a sour mood so she takes a rain check.
Ramirez also
comes by to talk to her. She’s clearly irritated that he keeps on hounding her
just like the press. She asks him to just be straight with her, so he complies;
he thinks that she had something to do with Selina’s death. This, naturally,
angers her; she had always been patient with him before, but not this time, she
asks him to leave.
Steven is
surprise to see Ramirez on set. Ramirez tells him that he’s here only because
he needs the complete list of URLoved’s crew and staff. Steven assures him that
the production team had nothing to do with Selina’s death. Ramirez replies that
he just wants to find out the truth so Steven introduces him to Joanna, a
production manager. Steven asks her to give Ramirez a copy of the crew list.
At home,
Jasmine broods over Selina. She never really knew her; she doesn’t know about
her family nor if she even had a boyfriend. Carly tells her not to worry about those
things so much and Jasmine gets knocked out by sheer exhaustion.
Ramirez
looks over the crew list with Osorio. He notices names of people that don’t work
for TV5 anymore but their names are still on the list. They smell a conspiracy.
On the set,
Jasmine is berated by the director again. This time it’s about her kissing
scenes. Afterwards, she once again mopes in her dressing room alone. Alexis
wants to make sure she’s okay but Carly sends him away; Jasmine needs to be
alone right now.
Jasmine cries
as she receives a text from Maskara011
asking about how the shoot is going. She lies that it’s going great but Maskara011 knows that she’s lying. He
tells her that they don’t see her worth as an actress but he does; he sees
everything. Creep! Jasmine, clearly spooked, looks over her shoulders.
Our inspectors
visit the TV5 building to talk to Joanna(who earlier received something from a guy wearing a red hat) she’s clearly nervous about their
presence and when they insist on accompanying her for an errand, she quickly bolts
out of there.
Back at the
station, they start interrogating her about the bogus list. Turns out, she’s
being paid by the fans to gain access on the set so they can see their favorite
actors; she includes their names on the list so they can enter the set anytime
they want. She remorsefully defends herself saying she only did this for money for her kids.
She insists
that what she’s doing isn’t hurting anyone but our inspectors beg to differ;
one of those people she let in is possibly Selina’s killer. They share their
newfound information with the chief and he assigns them to investigate the
people on the bogus crew list. The chief receives a call from Carly telling him
that Jasmine wants to meet with Ramirez.
Jasmine
finally tells Ramirez about Maskara011
and she shows him their exchange of texts. Ramirez deduces that it’s a fake
account and that person might be on the set. Osorio comes by to tell them that
they’ve found all the people on the bogus list except for one person; the guy
with a red hat. Dun! Dun! Dun!
Jasmine and
company is in a meeting with the TV5 head executives. The police advices to
halt filming until the murder case is resolved but they can’t delay the production
now that the show started airing. They give the decision to Jasmine since she’s the
target of the suspect; she decides to continue filming as long as the police
can assure their safety.
Ramirez goes
home that night. His family(mom, dad and little sister) is in the living room
watching Jasmine’s show. It’s apparent that they’re all very close, he's even
playfully teasing his little sis. We see that, at home with his family, he is very different from the stiff and unfriendly inspector we're used to and I actually prefer this friendly version of him.
Dad comments that Jasmine is really beautiful and Ramirez agrees, with a spark in his eyes. Oohhh! Is our inspector starting to fall for our actress?

Jasmine, just
after finishing a scene with Alexis, is being interviewed by Wendell. He asks
for an exclusive on their kissing scenes. She describes their kiss as tender, a
very ‘showbiz’ answer. Wendell playfully sulks, he always has an interesting
scoop from her but he can’t post it because they’re such good friends.
Jasmine sits
with Alexis and he notices that she’s in a sour mood. She’s upset because the
director seems to dislike her so much, unlike with Sarah Mae who he obviously
really likes. Alexis tells her that they’re different, Sarah Mae is not into
the craft of acting but more into being a celebrity.
Ramirez
interrupts them, he’s here to escort Jasmine home. Alexis asks if he’s her
bodyguard but Ramirez corrects him. Alexis leaves the two of them alone to film his next scene. Jasmine learns that Ramirez is from the PNPA, she
assumes that all graduates from the PNPA are gentlemen, was she mistaken?
Miguel
interrupts them too. Wait, no flowers? Jasmine introduces them to each other. Miguel invites
them out again for drinks and Jasmine accepts. They head to a bar and Miguel
gets all their drinks except, of course, for Ramirez whose still on-duty. Ha! I
find it funny how he totally looks like a fish out of water.
Everyone
enjoys themselves except for our inspector who keeps observing their
surroundings. Carly, already wasted, tells Ramirez that he’s actually really
handsome but it's too bad that he’s a snob. I love drunk Carly! She’s too wasted so Ramirez escorts
her to the van outside, leaving Jasmine and Miguel alone.
Outside,
drunk Carly tells Ramirez how kind Jasmine is, she’s supposed to be taking care
of Jasmine, but Jasmine takes care of her. Awww! She even tells Ramirez to take really good care of Jasmine. Ramirez asks the driver to take her home.
Inside,
Miguel hands Jasmine a shot of his ‘special drink’. Uh oh. And sure enough, she quickly feels dizzy. Ramirez spots a guy wearing a red hat going inside the bar so he
immediately alerts Osorio, asking for back-up. He misses seeing Miguel drag an inebriated Jasmine outside to his car.
Predictably,
he takes her to his apartment and lays her down on his bed. He starts taking
off his clothes and he turns around to position a hidden camera to record his heinous
act. You ginormous asshole!!!
Suddenly,
Maskara comes up behind him with a heavy lamp stand(?), that he took from one
of Miguel’s table and whacks Miguel on the head with it repeatedly. Maskara
then caresses Jasmine’s face and tells her not to worry, she’s safe. Jasmine falls in a deep sleep.
Morning.
Carly wakes up Jasmine and she tells her that they’re at Miguel’s place.
Downstairs, Carly tells Steven and the inspectors that fortunately Jasmine is
awake, she’s safe and didn’t acquire any bruises. Ramirez asks to see Jasmine
and they both head upstairs.
Ramirez asks
Jasmine if she’s hurt and he tells her he’s sorry. She gives him a hard slap in
the face, cries, hugs him and she lets
it all out. Ramirez hugs her back in comfort. Carly, looking at them despondently,
also cries.
In his lair,
Maskara has bloody and wounded Miguel tied up to a chair. The TV, playing in
the background, is showing a news report about Miguel who is declared missing.
Maskara, wielding a knife to his face, tells him that he’s now the current star
of the show but, in the end, there can only be one. Maskara stabs him on the leg and Miguel
cries out in pain.

COMMENTS
What a really
shitty week for Jasmine. Her rival dies making everyone think that she had
something to do with it. Because of this, she can’t focus on work and screws up badly making the
director berate her at every take. Her close friend whose also an avid suitor turns out to be a perverted douchebag, she almost got raped and
if it wasn’t for her murderous stalker, Miguel might have gotten away with it and
he wouldn’t even suffer the consequences; he’s rich and the son of a powerful
senator.
I really
like this episode not for the writing, there were some dialogues that felt
forced and unnecessary, but for the direction and editing. Particularly the
almost-rape scene, it was hard to watch because of the scene itself but it was
executed really well. We all saw the events play out from Jasmine’s drunken
POV; from Miguel carrying her to the bedroom to him stripping and finally to
Maskara bludgeoning him. The editing added an extra layer of eeriness to an
already disturbing scene.
