The mystery and our masked psycho
killer steps back to give way for more drama, character developments and
interactions. But, there’s still plenty of intrigue and suspense all around.
Jasmine is at the police station
to give her statement; the only thing she remembers from last night’s incident is
seeing Maskara dragging Miguel out of the room. Chief assigns Ramirez to guard
Jasmine in case the suspect contacts her again while Osorio is assigned to
continue investigating Ramirez’s leads for the case.
Miguel’s dad, powerful politician
Senator Asuncion, bursts in the police station demanding to see the Chief. Upon
seeing Jasmine, he lashes out blaming her for Miguel’s disappearance. Everyone
defends Jasmine but our entitled and arrogant Senator lashes out at them too.
Jasmine confidently tells him
that she doesn’t owe them anything, she already explained her side to the
police and as Miguel’s dad he, more than anyone, should know the kind of person
his son is. She wishes him a good day and leaves.
Jasmine and Alexis are filming a
scene where she has to slap him. Pak! It’s a good take and the director yells
cut. They later watch the scene on the monitor as Sarah Mae asks Jasmine what
happened last night with Miguel insisting that they did something scandalous.
Jasmine insists that nothing happened but Sarah Mae starts the rumors anyway.
Our inspector, while keeping
watch on Jasmine, receives a call from Osorio telling him that he’s back to
gather evidences from the crime scene(Miguel’s apartment). Osorio picks up some
paper clippings and sees Miguel’s hidden camera.
The air is tense between our actress and our
inspector. Feeling the tension, Ramirez speaks up asking Jasmine if there’s a
problem between them. She replies that there’s none but based from her biting
tone, there clearly is, she’s still mad at him for what happened last night.
Ramirez already apologized but she’s not having any of it. He failed to protect
her from Miguel and regrets ever trusting Ramirez.
He accepts that it’s his fault
and asks for a second chance but she keeps lashing out at him. She was lucky
that there was someone else who saved her which was supposedly what he should
have done. Luckily, Steven interrupts their heated dispute. But Jasmine , still
enraged and emotional, takes it out on him instead. She leaves Steven and Carly
dumbfounded.
Jasmine calms herself down by
sound tripping, she receives a text from Maskara011 and they start chatting
again. From faraway, Alexis secretly looks at her concerned. Hmmm.
Ramirez comes home and sees
little sis sleeping on the sofa. He suddenly receives a call from Osorio
telling him to come to the station right away.
At the station, they watch the
video from Miguel’s camera and see that it was Maskara coming up behind him. As
for the paper clippings Osorio found, it was from Maskara’s papier mache mask
and it has Jasmine’s face on it.
Jasmine receives a video file
from Maskara, it’s a video of him torturing Miguel. Jasmine, extremely horrified,
shuts her laptop.
Sarah Mae continues to spread
rumors about Jasmine dating Miguel. Meanwhile, Osorio urges Ramirez to seek
Jasmine for her help so they can save Miguel and catch Maskara at the same time.
Jasmine is expectedly indignant
that he would even think of asking her to save Miguel, after what that jerk did
to her. Carly accuses him that because a senator’s son is involved, he suddenly
takes this case very seriously. Ramirez reminds them that from the start, he
was always serious about the case.
He knows that Jasmine is mad at
him and Miguel, he understands what she feels right now, she angrily tells him
that he has no idea what she’s going through. This prompts him to suddenly
blurt out a name ‘Rowena Ramirez’; a 16y/o rape victim, brutally murdered and
because there was a lack of evidence and no suspect found, the case was
forgotten and dismissed.
He tells them that was the reason
why he entered the police force; to make sure that what happened to his
Ate(older sister) Rowena would never happen to anyone again. So yeah, he
understands what Jasmine is going through. The girls apologize and Jasmine
hands her cellphone to him so he could contact Maskara directly.
At a commercial shoot, Jasmine is
anxious which Carly notices as she tries to soothe her but Jasmine takes it the
wrong way. Carly reminds her that she’s not the enemy and she only wants her to
do the right thing. Jasmine can’t just let Miguel die but she wants to punish
him for what he did to her, she doesn’t know what to do anymore.
Ramirez is checking out Jasmine’s
laptop when he receives another video file from Maskara, this time Maskara’s forcing
Miguel to apologize to Jasmine. Miguel, very afraid, asks for her forgiveness
and adds that he’s scared, he’s not ready to die yet. Maskara, threateningly,
wields a hammer to his face and proclaims that they’re not done yet, they’re
gonna do this again tomorrow.
Sarah Mae continues to spread her
malicious rumors about Jasmine and Miguel, she tells Wendell that she
personally saw Miguel ‘take home’ Jasmine but Wendell insists that Jasmine is
not that type of girl. Sarah Mae clearly told him so he could post about on his
blog but knowing Wendell, he obviously won’t.
Ramirez is on set and asks Carly
for her help. He needs to send a text to Maskara, in guise of Jasmine, to lure
him out of hiding. But, our no-nonsense inspector can only come up with a
robotic sounding message, nothing like Jasmine at all. Carly teases him at
failing at such a simple thing so she asks him what he thinks of when he hears
Jasmine’s name.
His answer? Self-important,
irritating and exasperating. Pffft! But, also nice and confusing at times.
Carly thinks he’s helpless so she makes the text herself. She does a better job
at it and he approvingly thinks so too.
At the station, our inspectors
pull an all-nighter. There’s this weird brief scene at the bathroom with
Ramirez, I don’t know what to make of it, but it really sticks out because of
the unusual tone accompanied by a bizarre soundtrack.
Maskara sends a text to Jasmine’s
tablet which reads that he knows it’s Insp. Ramirez texting him along with several
image files, they’re stolen pictures of Ramirez’s little sister which expectedly
makes Ramirez agitated.
On the URLoved set, Jasmine and
Alexis see an edited photo of her and Miguel posted on the schedule board for
everyone to see. Naturally, this upsets Jasmine so Alexis, the good guy that he
is, removes the photo and announces to everyone, with the photo on hand, that
they don’t have the time for this kind of nonsense especially if it’s in the
interest of disrespecting someone. If they can’t take their jobs seriously,
they might as well just pack up and go home.
His speech at least lifts up Jasmine’s
mood and they continue filming. After taping, Carly hands her the tablet with
Maskara’s message and the stolen photos of Ramirez’s little sis. Worriedly, she
calls him but his line is busy so they immediately go to his house.
Thankfully, unlike what they’re
thinking, nothing bad happened to his family. Dad, Mom and little sis fawn over
Jasmine as soon as they see her at their doorstep. So they go inside for a late
night snack and chat. Mom and Dad even show Jasmine old pictures of Ramirez,
ehem I mean, of Ramon. He’s totally embarrassed but he smiles when she does.
Jasmine heads upstairs to call
her driver, since there’s no cell signal downstairs. Once they’re alone,
Jasmine apologizes to Ramirez for how she acted and for directing her anger for
Miguel towards him. Ramon takes responsibility that he was in the wrong so it’s
just right for her to get mad at him.
Jasmine tells him that when she
saw the stolen pictures, she feared for his family’s safety, she doesn’t want any
more people to get hurt because of her. Ramirez won’t force her to help against
her will any more but whatever she decides, he promises to always protect her.
Jasmine sincerely thanks him and calls him by name ‘Ramon’ but they both agree
that it doesn’t suit him at all. “Thank you Inspector!” She tells him and they
both smile.
At the station, Miguel’s senator
dad is furious and going at it; his son is still missing and he wants to know
their plan to save him from that Maskara freak. Ramirez reminds the senator
that once they catch Maskara, they’re also gonna arrest Miguel(for attempted
rape). Senator gets huffy and dares him to. Ramirez shows all of them Maskara’s
picture and advises them not to underestimate Maskara.
Ramirez has a sure plan to lure
him out and in comes Jasmine with a good news: Maskara responded and he agreed
to meet with her.
COMMENTS
This was a slow episode in terms
of plot development but it focused on our characters which was a nice breather
because we were focusing too much on the mystery. We finally got Ramirez’s
backstory which explained why he has 2 different personas; the serious and stern
inspector at work and the laidback and cheery son at home.
The suspicions are now shifting
to Alexis, I personally believe that he’s not our masked killer, is he just a
concerned co-star or is he our stalker in a friendly disguise?
A funny thing I noticed; there’s
a nice consistency with Osorio’s character, how in almost every scene he is in,
whether a light or a serious scene, he’s always just munching away. It’s very
consistent to his friendly and comical character and subtle enough that it’s
not distracting and out of place.
Next episode: Catch the psycho killer, self-defense training, car explosion, romantic developments, and is that Robin Padilla? Can’t wait!
