I'm sad that this show got cut due to low ratings but I'm glad that this last episode was still as enjoyable and fun as the rest.
Big: "Don't make boundaries or I'll cross them ".
I'm really happy Big and Hye Young ended up together.
I'm also very happy that our Surplus housemates finally! got a job.
I'm not happy that Jin Ah gets a chance with Shi Kyung because she doesn't deserve him and her 'redemption' wasn't either.
I really like the actress so it's sad to see her play such a one-dimensional, unlikable character.
Shi Kyung: "Go be with Hyun Myung ".
Even though I shipped Ha Ni with Hyun Myung, my heart still broke for Shi Kyung. I really hope Song Jae Rim gets the girl next time.
Gah!!! And they just had to flashback the underwater kiss? /heartbreaks/
Ha Ni: "We ate, drank, fought and laughed as if nothing would happen. I was worried I might disappear. But, those were the happiest days of our lives ".
Yay!! My ship sailed! But Nay! for only showing less than 25 seconds (in airtime) of their happy times.
Really show? I waited 8 episodes for this and all we got was a quick montage. And, as if that wasn't enough, after that we got this:
Ha Ni's last day as a human! Already? /sadface/
Hyun Mung: "I won't ever let go of your hand ".
We finally got an OTP kiss but Ha Ni disappears right after. /cries/ And Hyun Mung is just left there, alone, sad and clutching her ring. /cries again/
And then a year later, our Surplus housemates are still great friends plus Ahn Man Nyeo and Shi kyung:) and Jin Ah :( drinking happily together although they can't help but feel that something is missing.
To lighten the mood, Hyun Myung proposes a toast but then suddenly from behind, BOOM!!
It's Ha Ni!!! She's back (terminator-style) and everyone's happy, but not as happy as Hyun Myung who gets teary-eyed as he finally reunites with his love.
THE END!
I have so many questions but I won't even bother looking for answers. I'll just (a little begrudgingly) accept the open-ending even if it could have been done better because it's clear that Ha Ni and Hyun Mung would eventually get their happy ending.
I thank this show for making me a new fan of Jo Bo Ah and for making me love, cute and adorable, Ohn Joo Wan more. I also love that this drama was a mindless fun from start to finish and that it never delved anywhere near the makjang territory. It was a solid show even with the episode cut and I'm really gonna miss watching it every week.
Goodbye! Surplus Princess...
